By God's Grace, ADF Clients Go Five for Five!
Even though Roe v. Wade--for yet awhile--remains in place as the Supreme Court's most deadly mistake, a growing number of pro-life advocates are saving lives and building a culture of life by sharing the truth about abortion with their friends, peers, and communities.

But many of these individuals have found their right to express their opinions increasingly under attack--especially in the nation's public schools.

Now, by God's grace--and thanks to your prayers and support--we've gone "five for five" in one single month in recent legal efforts protecting pro-life students' free-speech rights.

Victory #1: Winchester, Virginia--A high school student was barred from distributing pro-life leaflets on his own time, because other students might view the material as "religious." After ADF filed suit, the judge quickly granted a motion for a preliminary injunction, ensuring the student was able to distribute his potentially life-saving leaflets.

Victory #2: Clifton Park, New York--Middle school officials barred a student from expressing his pro-life views--even though they had permitted other students to communicate freely on "controversial issues"--and even demanded that any students who received a pro-life flyer must surrender it to school officials. ADF represented the student and came to an agreement with school officials that ensured the student could wear his pro-life clothing and pass out his flyers.

Victory #3: Adams, New York--A high school senior's pro-life message was censored because--as the principal told the student--the message might make other students "uncomfortable," and it allegedly violated the so-called "separation of church and state." Hours after ADF attorneys filed suit, the school district agreed to permit pro-life clothing and the passing out of leaflets during non-class time.

Victory #4: Johnstown, Pennsylvania--ADF attorneys settled a lawsuit with school district officials who barred a student from passing out pro-life literature because they claimed it was "too controversial." The school promised to allow the student to pass out the flyers during non-class time, as well as exercise her constitutional right of equal access to start a pro-life club on campus!

Victory #5: Monroe, Michigan--A federal judge granted a motion made by ADF attorneys that requires middle school officials to recognize the free-speech rights of a student who was forbidden to pass out pro-life literature and wear a sweatshirt containing a pro-life message.

Says ADF Legal Counsel Matt Bowman a Blackstone Fellow (Class of 2001) who handled many of these cases: "A public school's property line does not separate a student from his or her First Amendment rights. The law is clearly on the side of peaceful, pro-life student speech. These schools either agreed or were ordered by the court to protect the right of pro-life students to express themselves in a nondisruptive manner."

Praise God for these five life-saving legal victories! They are possible because of your faithful prayers and support.
