The ACLU, America's number-one censor of religious speech, has been on a legal rampage against public prayer, issuing threats and filing lawsuits--especially in the Southeast.
One of the most important cases is in Louisiana, where the ACLU is in the midst of litigation against the Tangipahoa Parish School Board because of the board's historical invocation practice. The Louisiana chapter of the ACLU went so far as to demand imprisonment for school board officials, declaring in one motion for contempt that the officials' actions "must result in their removal from society."
ADF and our allies are defending the right of the board members to pray. Earlier at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, a three-judge panel awarded the ACLU a divided victory. |

On ADF's petition, the case will now be argued before the entire 19-judge U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in late May. Please pray that ADF's clients win, thereby securing a critical precedent affirming the right of public officials to pray according to the dictates of their own consciences, not ACLU censors.
